The short version. You must be 18 or over. Ibile Hub is a game hub with Stories: games of skill, comics and a wallet. Coins and Cowries are not money, and nothing here pays out cash. Once a match ends, its result is final. Play fair, be decent to other players, and tell us if something goes wrong. The detail follows, and it matters.
1. About these Terms
Ibile Hub is operated by Ibile Hub Games and Media Limited (CAC registration number RC9813581). In these documents, “we”, “us” and “our” mean Ibile Hub Games and Media Limited and “Ibile Hub” is the name of the service.
These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) are the agreement between you and us about your use of Ibile Hub: our games, Stories (our comics), the wallet, the Android and iOS apps, this website and ibile.games/wallet (together, the “Service”).
By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service. The Terms include, and should be read with:
- our Privacy Policy and Cookies page, which explain how we handle your information;
- our Purchases and refunds policy;
- our Community guidelines;
- our Responsible play page; and
- any rules shown in the Service for a particular feature, such as a tournament, a Season or a promotion. If one of those conflicts with these Terms for that feature, the specific rules apply to it.
If you use the Service through a store (Google Play or the Apple App Store), that store's own terms also apply to you. They are between you and the store, not us.
2. Who can use Ibile Hub
- You must be at least 18 to create or hold an account, and able to enter a binding agreement. You tell us your date of birth when you sign up and you confirm that you are 18 or over. If we learn that an account belongs to someone under 18, we will close it.
- Ibile Hub launches in Nigeria first. We may make the Service available in other countries later. You are responsible for using it lawfully where you are, and some features, payment methods or content may not be available everywhere.
- You must not use the Service if we have closed your account for breaching these Terms, unless we have told you in writing that you may return.
3. Your account
- Signing in. You sign in with your email address and a sign-in code we send to it. There is no password. Keep access to that inbox secure: anyone who can read it can sign in as you. We will never ask you for a sign-in code.
- One account, every surface. The same account works on Android, iOS and the web. Your balances, items, progress and reading history follow you.
- One account each. You may hold one account. Choose a display name and avatar that are not offensive, misleading or someone else's.
- Accurate details. Give us true information and keep your backup email current if you add one.
- Your responsibility. You are responsible for what happens on your account. Tell us promptly at hello@ibile.games if you think someone else has used it.
- No sharing or selling accounts. You may not sell, rent, lend or transfer your account, or buy one from someone else.
4. The Service
We provide the Service to you for your personal, non-commercial entertainment. A few things to know:
- It changes. We keep improving Ibile Hub. We may add, change, pause or remove games, Stories, features, items and rewards, including for maintenance, safety, licensing or legal reasons. See “Changes” below for what we owe you when we do.
- It needs a device and a connection. Online games and most features need an internet connection. Some practice games and chapters you have downloaded work offline. The Service is built for entry-level Android phones and patchy networks, but we can't guarantee it will run on every device or network.
- Low-data mode. Low-data mode is on by default. Data charges from your network are your responsibility.
- Notifications. If you allow them, we send push notifications such as “it's your turn” or “a new chapter is out”. You can turn them off in the app or on your device. We don't send purchase-pressure notifications.
- Software. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, revocable licence, which you cannot pass on to anyone else, to install and use the apps on devices you own or control, for the purposes above.
5. Games, ratings and tournaments
Ibile Hub offers games of skill and social play. Money does not change hands as a stake or a prize in any game, match or tournament.
- We call the result. Match results, ratings, rewards and anything else that counts are decided by Ibile's official record of the match. What your device shows is a preview of that. If the two ever disagree, Ibile's record is the one that counts.
- Modes. Casual matches pay Cowries and do not change your rating. Ranked matches change a rating that each game keeps for you (starting at 1200). Tournaments are brackets run to the rules shown on the tournament page. If we can't find a human opponent quickly in a casual match, we may match you with a computer opponent.
- Ranked and tournament play are looks only. Power-ups can't be used in ranked or tournament matches.
- Move timers and dropped connections. Matches run on a move timer. If you run out of time or stay disconnected for longer than the allowance, the match may count as a loss. Unfinished casual and ranked games can be saved and resumed, but we can't guarantee an interrupted game can always be restored.
- Tournaments. You enter a tournament with Cowries, a tournament ticket you have earned, or for free, as the tournament says. You can never enter a tournament with purchased Coins, and no payment ever gives you Cowries or tickets. Prizes are Cowries, looks, titles and similar rewards. They are not money and cannot be cashed out. We may delay, change or cancel a tournament, for example if too few players enter or something breaks, and if we cancel one we will return your entry.
- Ratings and leaderboards have no value. Ratings, leaderboards, achievements, badges, titles and match history are part of the game. They are not property and have no monetary value.
- Rules are the real rules. Traditional games are played with their traditional rules as described in the app. Where regional variants exist, we say which one we use.
6. Stories
Stories is our comics shelf. It is part of the Service and the following applies on top of everything else in these Terms.
- What you get. When you open a free chapter, or unlock one, you get a personal licence, which you cannot pass on to anyone else, to read it in the Service for your own enjoyment. You do not buy the comic or any rights in it.
- How chapters unlock. Depending on the series, a chapter may be free; free after a wait (one free chapter after each wait, with the option to skip the wait with Coins); unlocked with Cowries (for older chapters); unlocked with Coins; included in a season you buy for one price; or revealed by solving a puzzle or finding a clue. Each chapter shows how it can be unlocked and what it costs before you commit.
- Sealed and secret chapters. A sealed chapter is one fixed chapter, the same for every reader, and the listing says so. A secret chapter is hidden until you earn it. Anything you pay for has fixed contents shown to you in advance. Anything left to chance (such as a free daily drop, if we offer one) is free and shows its odds.
- Your unlocks. A chapter or season you unlock stays on your account for as long as your account is open and we still have the right to show it. If we have to withdraw something you paid for, for example because a licence ends, we will tell you and deal with it fairly, which may include crediting the Coins you spent.
- Reading anywhere. Unlocks are tied to your account, so you can read in the apps or on ibile.games. We serve paid pages through short-lived secure links. Downloaded chapters are stored on your device in a protected form for offline reading and stop working if your access to the chapter is removed.
- No copying. You may not copy, screenshot for distribution, scrape, download outside the app's own download feature, republish or share chapter images or text, or use them to train a machine-learning system.
- Ratings and content warnings. Series carry an age rating. Some content is hidden unless you opt in. Read the rating before you start.
- Reactions. You can react to chapters from a fixed set. At launch there are no free-text comments.
- Creators. The writers and artists behind Stories are paid by us under separate agreements. Nothing you spend in the wallet is paid to them directly, and nothing in the Service lets you pay or tip a creator through your wallet balance.
7. Coins, Cowries and items
Ibile Hub has two virtual currencies. There are no others.
| Coins | Cowries | |
|---|---|---|
| How you get them | You buy them with naira (or the equivalent through your app store). | You earn them by playing and reading: daily rewards, missions, wins, milestones, referrals and free Season Pass rewards. You can't buy them. |
| What they buy | Looks (skins and themes), chapters, whole seasons, Season Pass premium and similar items. Not tournament entry. | Store items, back-catalogue chapters, tournament entry and tickets, and gifts to friends. |
| Can you give them to someone? | No. | Yes, to friends, within the daily limit shown in the app. |
| Can you cash them out? | No. | No. |
- They are not money. Coins, Cowries and every item are a limited, personal, revocable licence to use features of Ibile Hub. They have no cash value and are not stored value, deposits, e-money or a payment instrument. They can't be withdrawn, cashed out, refunded for cash or exchanged for anything outside the Service, and we do not buy them back.
- No transfers. Apart from gifting Cowries (and earned looks) to friends in the app, you may not sell, trade, gift, lend or transfer Coins, Cowries, items or accounts, in or outside the Service. Anything bought with Coins can't be gifted or traded.
- Paid never becomes earned. No purchase gives you Cowries or tournament tickets, and Cowries can't be bought directly or indirectly.
- Fixed contents, no paid chance. Anything you pay for has fixed, disclosed contents. We do not sell loot boxes, random packs or any other paid chance of a better or different outcome.
- The Season Pass. Each Season has a free track and a premium track. You buy premium with Coins. All rewards are shown from the start, none is random, and premium rewards are looks and similar items, never Coins, Cowries or tickets. If you buy premium after reaching a tier, you receive the premium rewards for the tiers you have already reached. Seasons end on the date shown. Rewards you have earned but not claimed at the end are claimed for you.
- Our records count. We keep a history of every change to your balances, and that history is the official record of what is in your wallet. If a balance is credited or debited in error, or because of a failed, reversed or fraudulent payment, we may correct it. We may change prices, rewards and what items do going forward.
- Earning limits. Cowrie earnings have daily limits, and rewards from abandoned matches, bots, or farming are not paid.
- If your account ends. Balances and items are not refundable and have no value after your account is deleted or closed. See “Ending your account”.
8. Purchases and payments
- How you can pay. In the Android and iOS apps you can top up through your app store (Google Play Billing or Apple in-app purchase) or through our payment partners. On the web you pay through our payment partners. Today those are Paystack and, if Paystack is unavailable, Flutterwave. You can pay by card, bank transfer or USSD where offered. We never see or store your full card number.
- Price and what you get. Prices are shown in naira (or your store's local price) before you pay, together with the number of Coins you will receive. The price you see at checkout is the price you pay. Coins are credited once the payment is confirmed.
- Top up and buy. If you do not have enough Coins for something, we may offer to take a payment and complete the purchase in one step. If the purchase can't complete, for example because the price changed or time ran out, the Coins stay in your wallet and we tell you why.
- Final sales. Because Coins and virtual items are delivered to you immediately, completed purchases are final, except where the law says otherwise or where a charge failed, was duplicated or didn't credit. Our Purchases and refunds policy sets out exactly what we do.
- Chargebacks and reversals. If a payment is refunded or reversed (including when you ask your bank to reverse it, which is called a chargeback), we will remove the Coins it credited. If you have already spent them, your balance may go negative and your account may be restricted until it is cleared.
- Unauthorised payments. If you did not authorise a payment, tell us straight away at hello@ibile.games and tell your bank or payment provider.
- Limits. Top-ups and spending are subject to the limits and breaks you set under Responsible play, and to limits we may apply for safety and fraud prevention.
- Taxes. The price you pay at checkout is final. If any tax or levy applies to a purchase, it is included in or shown with that price.
- Promotions. Bonus Coins and offers are shown before you buy. We may end an offer at any time, but never after you have bought it.
9. Responsible play
You can set top-up limits, a daily spending limit and a daily time limit, or take a break of 7, 14 or 30 days, in Settings → Responsible play. These cover everything you can spend in the wallet, including Stories. Tightening a limit takes effect immediately. Loosening or removing one takes effect after 24 hours. A break can't be cancelled or shortened once it starts, and while it runs you can't play matches, top up or spend. See our Responsible play page. If you feel play is becoming a problem, take a break and talk to someone you trust.
10. Conduct and fair play
Our Community guidelines explain what we expect in detail. In short, you agree not to:
- Cheat. Use bots, scripts, solvers or engines to play for you, collude with other players, run more than one account, exploit bugs or change or hack the games, results or apps, or attack Ibile's own systems.
- Manipulate ratings or rewards. Arrange results, lose on purpose to help a friend, farm rewards, or abuse missions, referrals, gifting or the Season Pass.
- Misuse Coins and Cowries. Buy, sell or trade Coins, Cowries, items or accounts for money or anything else outside the app, or use stolen or unauthorised payment details.
- Harass others. Harass, threaten, bully or impersonate anyone, or send unlawful, hateful, sexually explicit or deceptive content in names, avatars, messages or anywhere else in the Service.
- Attack the Service. Try to access what isn't yours, overload or disrupt the Service, scrape it, probe it for weaknesses without our written permission, or reverse engineer it, except to the extent the law expressly allows.
- Break the law. Use the Service for anything unlawful, including fraud and money laundering.
- Misuse reporting. Report others falsely or to harass them.
If you find a security problem, please tell us at hello@ibile.games before telling anyone else, and give us a reasonable time to fix it. We welcome good-faith reports.
11. What we may do about breaches
Where we reasonably believe these Terms have been broken, or the law requires it, we may, in proportion to what happened:
- warn you, or restrict messaging, friend requests, gifting, matchmaking, tournament entry or other features;
- cancel match results, reset ratings, remove leaderboard entries, and reverse or remove rewards, items, Cowries or Coins that were obtained unfairly;
- suspend or close your account, and where an account is closed for serious or repeated breaches, its balances and items are lost; and
- report unlawful activity to the authorities and cooperate with lawful requests.
Where we can, we tell you what we have done and why. If you think we have made a mistake, email hello@ibile.games from your sign-in address with the details and we will review it. A person will look at it.
12. What you share
- Your display name, avatar, equipped looks, ratings, statistics, achievements and match results can be seen by other players, as described in our Privacy Policy.
- If you upload a photo as your avatar, or write a message, you keep your rights in it. You give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, display and transmit it as needed to run the Service, for as long as it is on your account. You promise that you have the right to share it and that it does not break the law, these Terms or anyone's rights.
- Messages are between you and the friend you send them to. We may use automated filters, and review reported messages, to enforce these Terms and keep players safe.
- If you send us feedback or ideas, we may use them without owing you anything.
- You can't upload stories or comics to Ibile Hub. Stories content is supplied by us and our licensors.
13. Our content and intellectual property
The Service and everything in it, including the software, the Ibile Hub name, seal and logo, artwork, comics, characters, music, sound, text, designs and our implementations and presentations of games, belongs to us or our licensors and is protected by law. Except for the licences in these Terms, you get no rights in it. Classic traditional games are part of shared culture, and we claim no ownership of the games themselves, but we do own our particular software, art and presentation of them. “Ibile” and “Ibile Hub” may not be used as a name, trade mark or domain without our written permission.
14. Copyright and content complaints
We respect other people's rights. If you believe something in the Service infringes your copyright or other rights, email hello@ibile.games with: who you are and how to reach you; what you say is infringed and where you own or control the rights; where in the Service the material is (a link or screenshot helps); a statement that you believe in good faith that the use is not authorised; and a statement that your information is accurate. We may remove material while we look into it, tell the person who shared it, and close the accounts of repeat infringers. If you think we removed something by mistake, tell us and we will review it.
15. Third parties
The Service relies on and may link to services we do not control, including app stores, payment providers, email and notification providers and, in future, other partners. We are not responsible for their services, content or terms, and your dealings with them are yours. We choose providers carefully and are responsible to you for how we use them to provide the Service.
16. Ending your account
- You can delete your account at any time in Settings → Account. We email a code to your sign-in address to confirm it is you. Deletion takes effect immediately, signs you out on every device, and is permanent. Any Coins, Cowries and items on the account are lost and are not refunded. What we keep after deletion is explained in our Privacy Policy.
- We may suspend or close your account as described in “What we may do about breaches”, or where the law or a regulator requires it.
- If we stop providing the Service altogether, we will give you reasonable notice and, where we can, a chance to use what you have in your wallet.
- What survives. Terms that by their nature should continue to apply after your account ends, including those about virtual items, intellectual property, liability and governing law, will continue to apply.
17. Disclaimers
We work hard to make the Service reliable, fair and safe, and we provide it with reasonable care and skill. But it is a live online service that depends on networks, devices and third parties. To the extent the law allows, we provide it “as is” and “as available”, and we do not promise that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure from every attack, or available on every device or network, or that every game or chapter will always be available. Nothing in this section removes any right you have that the law does not allow us to remove.
18. Limits on our liability
- Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that the law does not allow us to limit or exclude.
- Subject to that, we are not liable for loss that was not a reasonably foreseeable result of our breach, for loss of profit, business or opportunity (you use the Service for personal use only), or for the loss of virtual items, ratings or progress, which have no monetary value.
- Subject to the first point, our total liability to you for all claims arising from the Service in any twelve-month period is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose.
19. Your rights as a consumer
You may have rights under the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Act 2018 and other laws, including rights to fair treatment, to accurate information about what you buy, and to have the Service provided with reasonable care and skill. Nothing in these Terms takes those rights away. If you are unhappy with how we have handled a complaint, you may contact the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC).
20. Complaints, disputes and governing law
- Talk to us first. Most problems can be sorted out quickly. Email hello@ibile.games from your sign-in address with what happened, roughly when, and any payment reference. We aim to reply within five working days and to resolve the matter within 30 days.
- Governing law. These Terms, and any dispute about them or the Service, are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
- Courts. If a dispute can't be resolved informally, it will be decided by the courts of Nigeria, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring or defend a claim in your home courts, which these Terms do not take away.
21. Changes
- To the Service. See “The Service”. If we make a change that significantly reduces what you have paid for, we will tell you in advance where we can and deal with it fairly.
- To these Terms. We may update the Terms as the Service and the law evolve. We will post the new version here with a new date. For a change that matters to you, such as one that affects your payments, your rights or your data, we will tell you in the app or by email in advance, normally at least 14 days before it applies. If you keep using the Service after a change applies, you accept it. If you don't, you can stop using it and delete your account.
22. General
- Entire agreement. These Terms and the documents they refer to are the whole agreement between us about the Service.
- If part is unenforceable. If a court finds part of these Terms unenforceable, the rest stays in force.
- No waiver. If we don't enforce a right straight away, we haven't given it up.
- Assignment. We may transfer our rights and obligations under these Terms to another company that takes over the Service, if your rights are not reduced. You may not transfer yours without our written consent.
- Events beyond our control. We are not liable for a failure or delay caused by something beyond our reasonable control, such as a power, network or payment-system outage, a natural disaster, or an act of government.
- Notices. We may give you notice by email, in the app, or on this website. You can give us notice at hello@ibile.games.
- Language. These Terms are in English, and the English version prevails over any translation.
- Third-party rights. Only you and we have rights under these Terms.
